Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose is the most inspiring name in the freedom struggle of India. It is he who could only say, ‘Give me blood and I will give you freedom’ and people of all castes and communities came around him to shed their blood. So dearly they loved their leader and had so much unflinching devotion.

Subhash Chandra Bose was born at Cuttak in Odisha. His father Janaki Nath was a famous lawyer and his mother Prabha Vati Devi was a great lady.

Subhash was a meritorious student. He was admitted to Presidency College, Kolkata. But he was rusticated from the college. He often Mukherjee protested his English teacher against his remarks about India. Sir Ashutosh Mukherjee took up the matter and Subhash Chandra Bose was admitted to a Scottish Church College and took his degree in philosophy securing first class in second place. He then went to London to complete the I.C.S Examination and secured 4th place.

simultaneously he received Tripes Degree in philosophy from Cambridge University. Nationalist as he had been, he refused to serve under British rules. Then he joined the Indian freedom struggle under Mahatma Gandhi as an assistant of Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das and courted imprisonment several times. He lost his health but the dauntless leader never stopped.

So pressing was his nationalism that he left India during the Second World war. He went to Germany and then to Singapore. He took up the command of the Azad Hind fauz and led his Victorious Army to unfurl the flag of independent India in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Kohima in Nagaland, Manipur. But with the defeat of Germany and Japan, the victorious army of Azad Hind fauz had to retreat. But their valor and courage had become legendary.

Everyone believes that India became free due to Netaji and Azad Hind fauz’s selfless sacrifices.

The death story of Netaji has no proof, therefore, a great section of people believe that he is still alive.
